Five mile run

Jonathan found a good 5 mile jogging path which he ran several dozen times over the fall.  It went by several noteworthy sites.

The Hawkwell House in Iffley Village, where Jonathan and Sally had their wedding rehearsal dinner.

A thatched roof in Iffley Village (a 15th century barn later used as a school).

The  Church of St. Mary the Virgin, from around 1180.

Down a path next to the church.

Across the Iffley Lock.

Along the Thames River (called the Isis in Oxford) and the riverboats,

College Boat Houses along the Isis.

The Folly Bridge.

Entering Christ Church meadow.

Headed towards Christ Church College.

Approaching Christ Church College.

Along the "Dead Man's Walk," behind Merton College, a route for medieval Jewish funeral processions.

Upon Rose Lane towards Magdalen College.

Passing Magdalen College.

Over Magdalen Bridge.

Final motivation provided by passing the track where the first 4-minute mile was ever run.

A final turn at Exeter House where Jonathan and Sally first met while in graduate school.

Arriving back at the house where the family lived in Fall 2024.
